Summer Alta Badia
Summer Alta Badia is characterized by pleasant scents: of flowers, of fresh hay, of the humid soil at dawn. To say nothing about the Alta Badia animals: eagles in the sky, white rock ptarmigans, the common pheasant, groups of chamois in the mountains, ground squirrels. The latter can even eat bread from your hands while you are having an break in height, in the middle of the meadows! During your summer Alta Badia you can also book a refuge in height, to live the Alpine atmosphere to the fullest! History fans can also visit many open air museums in the Dolomites about WWI; there are many historical hiking trips along the old front! On August 15th you can have a look at the “Santa Maria dal Ciüf” tradition; peasant women prepare a basket with flour, herbs, salt and bring it to the parish church. The basked is blessed by the priest and wherever there’s a thunderstorm coming, the basket will be burnt in the oven, to protect the house.
